Finch is a California native who first started playing softball at age five. Doug Finch is Jennie's very first pitching instructor. He also created the Finch Windmill an arm conditioning tool which Jennie began using at 10. In high school she pitched six perfect games and 13 no-hitters. Her next stop was University of Arizona. University of Arizona where she was named an All-American three times and a first baseman. Her Honda Award was also given in 2001 and 2002 when Arizona was awarded the national softball title. Wounded warrior amputee softball (WWAST), a team made up of amputees, has a goal to promote awareness and raise funds by playing shows, star softball teams and other events which highlight the strength and sacrifices made by our soldiers and their families and the way they are able to overcome any obstacle. We aim to demonstrate other amputees and the general population that these athletes through long rehabilitation and rigorous training are able to express their wishes and play the sport they loved.
